Look On The Bright Side - The Power of Our Mindset

Whilst we may not have enjoyed the relentless rain we experienced over much of May, the countryside clearly has. Everything looks so green, healthy and vibrant, and coupled with the glorious sunshine we have had in June so far, is now growing at a rapid rate.

Focusing on the upsides of things and why we could feel grateful for something, even if it feels like a badly wrapped gift, serves as a powerful antidote to negativity.

This is true in virtually any, and all situations. If we can search hard and find some good in it, (perhaps there is something we can learn as a life lesson, or it is something that can help us grow and strengthen our resilience), then the situation feels far less negative and overwhelming.

Adopting an attitude of gratitude helps to train our minds to look for the upsides and benefits in all scenarios, the silver lining, or whatever we want to call it. If we practice this mindset, it quickly becomes second nature and our emotional well-being is well protected, whilst negative thoughts have very little impact on us. It has also been found to be incredibly powerful in staving off low levels of depression and so can help us to stay well.

Why not try it? Every day write down 3 things you are grateful for, large or small, and quickly notice how much better that makes you feel.

Remember: One small POSITIVE thought in the morning, can change our whole day.
