How to Worry Less About What Others Think About You.

TIP 1

Don’t over-estimate how important you are in other people’s worlds. In the nicest possible way, people really aren’t that interested in us!

TIP 2

Stop trying to mind read. We torture ourselves by trying to ‘guess’ what others are thinking and when we try to guess we are almost always completely wrong. The reality is, it is none of our business what other people are thinking, good or bad, and we will never really know - nor should we.

TIP 3

Regularly remind yourself of this truth - other people have their own insecurities to worry about. They don’t have the time to think about us, they are too busy worrying about their own problems and issues.

TIP 4

Change the story in your head. The most important conversation we ever have is the one we have with ourselves. Change the narrative that you are feeding yourself - interpret the situation differently so it doesn’t upset, or drag you down.

TIP 5

Consider this very strong possibility - they might actually be thinking positive things about you; perhaps they actually admire you, or like your appearance, or behaviour.

TIP 6

Focus on controlling your own thoughts - not those of others. Only your thoughts are in your control, so, work on what you can control, rather than wasting time on what you can’t.

TIP 7

Don’t give other people greater importance over your mood and confidence. Especially those who aren’t even important to you!

TIP 8

Never forget they might be struggling more than you. And if that’s the case, are probably more concerned about what you think about them.

TIP 9

Always remember - NONE of us will be liked by EVERYONE - and that is totally OK!
